A comedic work transcribed from Rossini’s original work for two voices. Transcribed by Joseph Cooper, this work ask the musicians to play their instruments as if they are mewing like cats.

For trumpet, saxophone and electronics. Premiered at the OSU Faculty Chamber Recital March 6 in the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts Recital Hall.
Bela Bartok 44 Duos for Two Violins, Sz. 98 (1931)
Composite Brass Bartok Duos for Trumpet and Saxophone (2023)
8 of the 44 duos were arranged into a recital suite for unaccompanied Bb trumpet and soprano saxophone. Premiered at the 43rd International Saxophone Symposium hosted by the United States Navy Band, January 13-14, 2023 at George Mason University.
Igor Karača Echoes IV for trumpet, saxophone, and electronics (2022)
Dr. Karača is a composer on faculty at Oklahoma State University. He composed Echoes IV for trumpet, saxophone and electronics. Premiered on a recital hosted by the Nebraska Trumpet Ensemble via Facebook live, 5/2022. Also, performed at the 2023 NASA Conference.
Matthew Howell Imaginary Changes for trumpet and saxophone (2021)
Matthew Howell composed this 3 movement work for trumpet and saxophone, becoming the first piece performed by Composite Brass. Premiered in the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts Recital Hall, during the Greenwood School of Music Faculty Chamber Recital, 10/2021.

The Composite Brass duo was formed in 2021 by John Salinas, saxophone, and Joe Cooper, trumpet. Our mission is to expand the repertoire for saxophone and trumpet duo. We are always seeking new collaborations, please email joe.cooper@okstate.edu if you are interested in writing a piece for us.
